Tips & Tricks
Before you start, the first thing that should be done is to decide which kind of finish is required by you, after its done, refer to the guide in order to know which product will best suit your surface, make certain calculation in order to determine how much will be required to complete the work.
Also, look after the type of wood you choose, as each has their own characteristics and thus accordingly the finishes and stain should be chosen.
Preparation
Well preparation of timber determines the adequate finish. Inadequate finish, especially sanding can result in rough and patchy finish. In order to remove all the scratches, careful sanding is required, as coating magnifies all the imperfections and scratches.
- Clear - The surface should be clear and clean from dust, dirt, grease or any other unwanted particle.
- Sand - Removal of the old coating is required in order to penetrate the new stain or adhesion of clear finish. Removal of old coating is required by rough sand. Always sand along the direction of wood grains.
- Fill - Fill with SVE Wood Putty/Wood Filler, matching the colour of the timber. Linseed oil putty or wax should not be used.
- Wipe - Remove all the sanding dust by wiping thoroughly through the surface. Wash it with the help of mineral turpentine (for oil based finish). Allow to let it dry for some time before proceeding.

- SVE Wood Fillers are used to fill grain and pores, cracks or any other defect or a flaw, leaving a transparent finish on a wooden surface.

SVE Melamine Wood Finish
- Sanding Sealer is used for preparing surface of wood before applying Melamine base top coat.
- It provides uniformity and smoothness to the surface for top coating. Melamine sealer acts as a protection cover, saving it from various blemished marks and streaks
Directions For Use
Mixing ratio of Melamine Sanding Sealer & Melamine Hardner – 9:1 by volume
Keep the mixture for 20 -30 minutes for maturation.
Mix the above mixture with 20 -40 % of SVE T-14 Thinner and use it within 8 hrs.
Keep the mixture for 20- 30 minutes for maturation. Spray by using SVE T14 Thinner.
Consume the mixture in 4 -6 hrs. Allow it to dry for 6-8 hrs
- Apply 2 coats of SVE Wood Finish Melamine sanding sealer, with a gap of 45 minutes.
- Sanding of the surface is required in order to get rid of unwanted particles and this can be done with the help of emery paper no. 320/400. Examine the surface carefully if any imperfections are there, if any touch up with the help of sealer it will help in making the surface smooth, also ensure that no dents or cracks are there on the surface, and if any try to cover it with the help of SVE wood filler.

- It provides a, durable film which helps protecting your wood from water, alcohol and usual household chemicals, thus giving attractive finish to the surface of protection.
Directions For Use
Mixing ratio of Melamine Sanding Sealer & Melamine Hardner – 9:1 by volume

SVE Wood Finish Nitrocellulose (NC) Paints
- SVE Wood Finish NC Sanding Sealer is a quick- drying, high fill, clear wooden undercoat, with excellent wooden sealing properties, providing the ideal foundation for clear coat application.
- It’s a special design formulation wherein it exhibits outstanding filling properties shortly after its use and suitable for all wooden surfaces
Directions For Use
- Mixing ratio of NC Sanding Sealer & T-11Thinner – 1:1.5 -2.0 Parts
- Apply 2 coats of SVE NC Sanding sealer with a gap of 1.5 to 2 hours (Sun Shine)
- Sand the surface with emery papers no 320/400. Examine the surface for imperfection, if any, touch up with sealer makes it smoother as per process mentioned above.
Technical Details
- Solid content 40% approx
- Drying Time - 5-7 minutes
Note - Relative humidity should not exceed 75%. At higher humidity NC Wood finish can appear to be whitish due to Excessive quick evaporation. After complete drying, buffing will enhance gloss. Buffing not recommended for Mat Finish

Mixing Ratio - PU Sanding Sealer & PU Hardner: 8:2 Parts
Mix the above mixture with 30 - 40% T10 Thinner
Apply 2 coats of SVE PU wood sanding sealer with a gap of 45 minutes and then sand it after overnight in order to remove the unwanted particles on the wooden surface, sand the surface with emery paper no. 320/400. Examine the surface for imperfection, if any touches with sealer make it smoother as per process mentioned above.

Directions Of Use
- Mixing Ratio - PU paint & hardener in the ratio of 8:2 & allows it to mature for 30 minutes.
- This mixture is mixed with 40% SVE T10 thinner.
- After coating leave it for 10 to 12 hours.
1st Coat PU Paint - Sand the surface again the orbit sender machine with disc of grit 400 and clean the surface with a soft cloth. Apply the first coat of PU Paint with spray gun and leave it for the next 12 hours to dry.
Wet Sanding - After first coat of PU Paint, do the wet sanding of the surface with emery paper of grit 1000. This wet sanding removes the excess material and creates a smooth base for the final coat.
Final Coat - After wet sanding apply the second coat of PU Paint with spray gun and leave it for 12 hours to dry.
Buffing - Buffing is optional, but we at Home Glazer advice buffing for Gloss finish. For Matte finish, buffing is not advisable
